The Junction Motel, New Norfolk. My husband and I very recently visited Tasmania and overall had a wonderful time, the people, the scenery, the places to visit and stay. We were looking forward to staying at The Junction Motel and eating in the restaurant there. We had been self catering. The Motel room was fine had all we needed. When booking in that was ok and it was mentioned to ,book, if we wanted an evening meal. I duly did so and an efficient Asian man gave me a time for the meal. We seated ourselves at a table with our room number displayed and the Asian person came and took an order. ok so far. Next we were told no 'fish and chips'. so a new order and I changed my order after finding out about the dish. Then a European wait person asked if we wanted drinks but we did not. He then served other people who came after us ,when asked for our order said' the chef is under stress.' finally our 1st course came and we were asked was it ok ,not really but then the same man asked did we want tea or coffee! We were waiting for the 2nd course! He did not seem to know what was on order or going on.The food was indifferant, and because we weren't laughing, drinking and making a noise; the wait person saw this as a problem! He was sarcastic and needs training in serving people. Next morning when I paid the bill the 'owner'[?] said he heard we were unhappy!.I don't think anyone has complained before but if you are drinking and chatting to friends one would'nt notice the food or service. There is no excuse for poor food and service when one is in the Hospitality Trade. I know as I have worked in the area. The European wait person spoiled the evening for us and does not help the Motel by being there. We visited on the 13th Nov P.Lea The Motel has East meets West, the East was fine................
