About

Christmas Trees are an iconic part of Christmas with the majority of Australian households installing and decorating a Christmas tree of some kind. The custom of installing a Christmas tree can be traced back to 17th century in Germany where traditionally the tree was a recently harvested pine, fir or spruce tree decorated with apples, biscuits, and nuts. In the 18th century it became popular to also decorate a Christmas tree with candles, garlands and tinsel, with a tree topped placed on the top of the tree, such as a star or angel.
