Unlike so many of our competitors, whose founders have been long forgotten or been reduced to a letter within an acronym, we celebrate our founder and his philosophy. That's why his name still appears in his own handwriting.

So much has changed since David founded the agency in 1948. Today we create brilliant creative ideas and solve business problems in interesting and surprising ways. We have experts in all areas of marketing communications and operate across every medium, but we never forget that all this creativity is only a means to an end. If he was with us today, David would remind us that, �If it doesn't sell, it's not creative�.

If you need proof that we have stayed true to the original philosophy, how's this? In 2012 Ogilvy won both the �Network of the Year� award at the Cannes Lions Festival and the �Network of the Year� award at the Effies. Brilliant creativity with excellent results. We are also very proud that Ogilvy Australia was in the top four most awarded Ogilvy offices at the Cannes Lions awards.

But despite all this we are not a happy bunch; we know that we're only as good as our next idea. David also left us with another philosophy, that of �divine discontent�. We are constantly looking for a bigger creative idea. At Ogilvy, we never, ever stop searching for new and better ways to help our clients' businesses grow.
