The Murrumbatemen Winery produces boutique, quality wines showing bold fruit and strong cool climate characteristics. With five acres of vines and one of the oldest plantings and wineries in the region the winery and cellar door have a rustic feel. Vines are low yielding, individual bunches are selected to produce classy, well structured wines. Known for its premium wines which include Barbera, Merlot, Chardonnay, Semillon, Cabernet Sauvignon, White Port, Shiraz and Mead. Tourism awards received in 1995, 1996 and 1997. Visitors are welcome to taste the wines while viewing our Art Gallery.

Facilities include a gallery, function centre cellar door. Functions made easy offering flexibility perfect for weddings, Christmas parties, corporate meetings etc.

Wines on sale through our online store at a discount mailed directly to your door. We cater wine for functions and events large and small as well as restaurants offering superior flexibility for small to medium sized firms.

While the majority of wine grapes in Australia are grown in warmer regions, many of Australia�s super-premium, world class wines come from cooler regions. Experts attribute this to the slow ripening and accumulation of flavours promoted by cool conditions prior to harvest. The Murrumbateman region stands tall in Australian cool climate wine produce.

The murrumbateman winery can cater wine for your event or business. We specialise in small restaurants and events, because we focus in the flexibility you require. We can sell in bulk at a discount, mixing together our different wines delivering to your door. We can also arrange weekly/monthly/quarterly deliveries, and top up inventories as your business sells them. It is this flexibility that already has us catering for many restaurants and venues in the ACT region. The Murrumbateman Winery currently uses its cellar door to engage in business sharing arrangements with Artists, Photographers, local producers of clothing and food produce. If you have a product that you think will sell in our cellar doors, we will rent this space to you for free in return for a title on the percentage of profits.

In order for us to market your product it can not detract from other products including our own, it must combine a range of factors: it must be marketable, aesthetically pleasing, profitable, sizeably small and in fitting with the tone of a cellar door.

If you have a proposition you would like to put forward understand you will be taking all the risk, and the arrangement can be terminated by us at anytime for any reason. We are willing to start small and cater to your needs.

Creating fine wine is evidenced by the daily tending and non-commercial hand crafting of our vines and time-honoured wine making methods, such as open vat fermenters, hand plunging and barrel fermentation, all grapes are individualy picked and inspected. As traditional handmade winemaking methods are far gentler than the modern techniques often utilised by large commercial operations; The Murrumbateman Winery is at a distinct advantage as a boutique establishment. The process is soft; yielding to the demands of the fruit so that the maturation of the skins and the extraction of the tannins from the fruit are maximised - ideal for the wines made in cool climate regions.
