Hello Yuki, I hope you have and your husband have settled in nicely at your new home. Sincere apologies for the unavoidable hurdles on the day and sorry I could not console your husband as my only wish was to move your home happily. I tried to explain and make a compromise but your husband was understandably not happy and would not calm down and be reasonable. I would like to explain. We had a busy day that day and we also had several unexpected hiccups that affected the smooth flow of the day. We had several trucks booked that day and one of the trucks that we normally use had a mechanical fault so we had to hire another truck so we could do the moves. We had booked a 30 cubic metre truck (which cost us $180.00) and when we went to pick up it was not available so we had to hire the smaller truck. Then we arrived at the early morning job and the access was much longer then we expected, and although they only had a small amount of furniture, and due to the torrential rain we were restricted with loading the truck as promptly as we usually do because we had to protect the customers valuable furniture, and the job took much longer then we expected. With furniture removals this sometimes happens and we sincerely apologize when this occurs. As such we were delayed, and every removalist in the world is fully aware this happens from time to time. When we finally arrived the guys were nearly an hour into loading the truck and your husband called me and was extraordinarily irate and he was angrily demanding a 50% discount. I said that because was a smaller tuck than you requested that I would deduct the travel time from the second pick up (1-1.5hrs in cost) from the total and your husband would not compromise and continued yelling that he would only accept half price. As it was we were giving you a 20% discount with the $90p/hr rate (reduced from $110.00plus GST) and we were also not charging you a call out fee. I was totally prepared to compromise but your husbands yelling and unreasonable demands were unacceptable and he said he was not going to pay the fees for our hard work so I calmly and politely cancelled the job there and then. This also cost me a considerable amount of money, and that didn't particularly concern me because my priority is always a calm and happy move for the customer. Although he was so unreasonable I understand his stress on the day and hope he has settled down now. I wish you all the best in your new home in Hurstville and when you need any goods moved or delivered in the future I will give you three hours moving free of charge.
