Walk to art is about discovering art. Walk to art is a walking tour that travels to the hidden commercial galleries in the deep dark lanes of Melbourne; to the artists� studios in the unnamed buildings; and to the artist-run initiative spaces that are the reward of climbing many flights of stairs. Walk to art is about breaking down the barriers: the intimidation of walking into a clean, white, cold space, the fear of not knowing how to look at, feel, or describe art. Walk to art is an introduction to the art world. You do not need prior knowledge or a degree in fine art to join in the fun. The itinerary is always changing and the destinations are not revealed to the participant until the day of the walk. The tours operate Wednesday, Friday and Saturday of every week with private tours also available. The groups are small and intimate with a maximum of eight people. We walk in all weather conditions and it is recommended that glamorous heels be left at home. The cost is $108 per person which includes 3 hours of chatting, walking and listening to the experts, a �starter pack� which will help you continue on your journey of art discovery, and fabulous wine and cheese at the end. Your guide loves a brisk walk � so come prepared to cover some serious ground.
