Tharwa Sands is a family owned company run by John and Anna Hyles. The company was first established in 1974 and has grown since then into Canberra\u2019s leading supplier of sand and gravel. We produce a large number of landscaping and building products, and customers are able to buy \x03direct from the quarry.\nTharwa Sand\u2019s is a leading producer of washed river sand, Ginninderra red Granite, Ginninderra Red Ornamental stone, Washed river pebble and topsoil, the products are sold at competitive rates throughout the Canberra, Goulburn, Sydney and Southern Highlands regions.\nThe Business operates from two Canberra locations,\nThe Ginninderra Red Granite Pit near Belconnen\nThe Cavan Sand dredge located on the back waters of the Burrinjuck Dam near Yass and Gungahlin\nThe Ginninderra Red granite is also our clean fill and recycling site where all our products are available for pick up\nTharwa Sand has a long standing commitment to the Canberra, Goulburn, Southern Highlands and Sydney regions with strong ties to over 100 customers including concrete companies, landscape yards, builders, and civil engineers. Our products are used by most of the major institutions such as Parliament House, the National Library, National Museum of Australia, National Zoo and Aquarium, the Canberra Airport and many more. Ginninderra Red Granite is a product exclusive to Tharwa Sands and it is seen throughout the public spaces of Canberra providing a natural backdrop to much of the Bush Capital.
