PPA respects and values the physiological processes of pregnancy, birth and lactation, and assert that for the vast majority of women and babies, it is possible for these processes to unfold normally. We aim to enable parents and those who work with new families to recognise and support the natural development of the child and her/his attempts at self-construction from birth. We acknowledge that for a relatively small percentage of the population, intervention is necessary in order to achieve the best possible outcomes for families and we value the role that medical technology can play under these circumstances.
