AITP was established in 2001 because its founder, David Richards, identified a need among industry organisations for training that suited their business and their aim to become safer and more productive.

AITP has grown to incorporate a diverse range of courses that WA industry has requested, from mine safety training to WorkSafe licensing, safety consultancy, skills recognition, in-house training and workplace skills. (These include

employability skills such as time management, interpersonal and communication skills, meeting skills and working effectively in the workplace).
