Hampton and South Medical Centre 2.85 km

600 Hampton St, Brighton, VIC, 3186

This information is for new patients to the clinic and it details my experience, my approach to medicine and my medical expertise. My Approach Particularly for more complex conditions, my clinical approach is to gather the details, conduct an examination, and then formulate a management plan. The plan will take into account patient concerns and beliefs, and include a number of suggestions on how to investigate and treat a problem. My advice is based on 25 years of clinical experience as a doctor and an eclectic range of post graduate training. If necessary, I will liaise with other practitioners that have been consulted to ensure I have the correct details of your medical history. I am happy to give a second opinion (without expectation for further attendance). I like to give printed information whenever possible, and have a good range available in house and access to the resources from clinical databases worldwide. Whenever possible I will advise on health screening measures that are appropriate for age and sex. I have been practising continuously in the Bayside area for many years and have developed a good range of specialist and allied health services (psychologists, physicians, surgeons etc) that I refer to. Patients have the choice of seeing specialists privately or through the hospital system. I am a strong believer in all forms of Rehabilitation, of both mind and body, as a most natural way of getting back to health. When needed, I refer to rehabilitation services, with both public and private services represented in the Bayside area. I offer basic training in mindfulness meditation, as taught by Dr Craig Hassad at Monash University. The Training & Applying It. My undergraduate medical training was at the University of Melbourne, followed by a busy internship at St Vincent’s Hospital. Subsequent training was somewhat eclectic by choice, and during the late 80’s and 90’s part of my responsibilities involved caring for homeless and marginalised patients alongside Dr Harry Hemley and Dr Peter Pearce OAM. This information is valid as at 1st July 2010 and expires on 31st December 2010 unless updated prior. Copyright. Nursing Support My wife Monica is a Registered Nurse, Division 1, who works as the Cardiomyopathy/Heart Failure Nurse-Coordinator at The Royal Melbourne Hospital. Cardiomyopathy is a cardiac condition. Monica was awarded Victorian Clinical Nurse of the year by the State Health Minister, Daniel Andrews, in 2008. Her expertise is available for patients at the practice, e.g., in Cardiovascular Risk assessment and management. Appointments You may book an appointment by calling. Reception is staffed by Kerrie, Adelle or Chong. Availability I am available Monday to Friday, and every 2nd Saturday morning*. My hours are: 9.00am** to 1.30pm Monday to Friday 3.00pm to 6.00pm Tuesdays** & Thursdays I am available to speak to established patients 24 hours a day, via the above number.
