For 50 years, the practice has been extensively involved in the planning and development of many large-scale subdivision projects in the metropolitan area and has developed particular expertise in this field. This was recognised by the Royal Australian Institute of Architects in 1977 when the firm was awarded the Citation for Community Design for its work on the Milgate Park Development in Doncaster, now regarded as unique in its integration of residential dwellings with recreational open space, fifteen years ahead of the introduction of VicCode.

The firm reached it's peak of activity in the mid eighties when it employed a total of eight to ten staff including two licensed surveyors. In recent years Mr Mulcahy has preferred to reduce his commitment to substantial overheads and now employs only two full time surveyors, using additional contract personnel as required, but continues to work on a full time basis himself.
