Management plays a very vital role in holding an organization together. This is the basis of the strength of an organization, so having an effective management team builds a strong organization. An organization's management skills and training abilities should be able to cultivate the employees within the organization. Furthermore, training and development initiatives are essential tools that leaders of the organization use to improve the productivity of personnel.

Training covers the practical aspects of work which consists of the approach, tools, equipment and even computer systems that an organization uses to teach workers. In addition, training also covers the general knowledge that a personnel need to perform tasks efficiently. Meanwhile, management development programs are designed to teach methodologies and strategies that an organization use to recruit, coach, evaluate and promote executive personnel.

Every year, corporations, non-profit organizations and government agencies spend billions of dollars to management development and training. And this is why management development and training is always met with doubt. Bringing an employee to undergo training and leave work is costly, because of the direct cost of paying for the classes as well as the loss of valuable man-hours in the office. Although management development and training is costly, it has substantial benefits and Companies that do not invest in developmental training of their managers will suffer financial consequences.

  • A lack of action plan is another thing that most organizations face. An organization may forgo new development for old methods if it does not have clear objectives and action plans. The solution here is making follow-up meetings and monitor progress to help team finish before deadlines because these meetings gives an opportunity for feedback, thus help the management develop new strategies.
