I engaged David Kam & Co Solicitors for their assistance in purchasing a property off-the-plan. From... the time I was given notice of settlement I had to constantly relay messages and coordinate activities between the bank and David Kam & Co, as the bank was not getting the information they needed from them. I have never personally handled settlements so the only actions I knew needed to occur came from instructions from the bank as DK&Co was not returning emails or answering phone calls. Their lack of ability to perform their job also caused my settlement to be delayed twice. Always do your homework before engaging any solicitor/conveyancer especially for something as significant as purchasing a property. This process should be seamless from the perspective of the customer. Your solicitor should be working with your bank FOR YOU, not THROUGH you. The lack of communication and organisation demonstrated by David Kam & Co lead to the disruption in my daily work due to coordinating settlement (which should not have been my responsibility), frustration in email/phone calls being ignored and anxiety in not knowing what was happening. At the end of the day, I was still charged 100% of their fees, where much less than that percentage was actually delivered in services.

I have used this company before and had reason to make a number of complaints. I used the company ev...en though they are very expensive because I was under the impression they were experienced and a reputable company. I was told that they believed they would deliver a lower overall cost because of their experience. I did not find it to be the case. I am not happy with the way the company handled my case and I do not view this company as a reputable company. I am not happy the company failed to disclose relationships. I feel the reputable company should have disclosed before I engaged their services. I view my relationship with this company as a costly mistake.
