Air Freight Services
Air freight services are methods of conveyance for physical goods, usually termed cargo, from one destination to another. The cargo is often also called the "shipment"; where the word is inclusive of transport of goods via land, air or sea.
Typically, cargo is moved in shipping containers, where a container might be as small as a square foot of cardboard or as large as a 20-feet rectangle steel box. A shipping container can also be used to transport liquid (in drums), weapons or music instruments (in custom carrying cases), granular substances (often in collapsible containers), and produce (usually in wooden crates).
What to look for when choosing an air freight company:
- Speed and reliability, because you want your goods to get there and get there on time
- Real-time tracking services, because you want to know where and when your cargo arrived or if it encountered any delays or other problems
- Weight load handling, because you want to know how much the transport carrier can handle and if it suits your needs
- Rates and delivery times for your destination
- Packaging and unpacking services for your convenience
- Fleet span (air, land and sea) because you want to know whether they are capable of taking your shipment to it's destinations without relying on third-party services
- International as well as domestic cargo handling, depending on where your destination is
- Comprehensive loss and damage policies that cover you in case of unforeseen events
- Certification by International Air Transport Association (IATA)
