About
Arte Suave is the creation of Antonio Mota and Emanuela D'Annibale. They have experienced the rigidity of many modern day traditional and Martial Art gyms and want to offer an alternative. Arte Suave is focused on Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and its vision is to create an environment: That motivates people to make positive changes in their lives and want to be the best they can be (healthy and fit physically, with a clear mind and a revitalised spirit).
Arte Suave's philosophy is provide a holistic approach to Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, bringing together tools to enhance you as an individual on all levels. We aim for people who want to grow, be healthier and learn a new skill which will enhance their lives.
The main requirements for a person practising BJJ is conditioning, fitness, flexibility and relaxation. We will provide students with the support they need to achieve their goal in BJJ while enhancing their fitness and fortitude.
Our Brazilian Jiu Jitsu is based on a curriculum created by Andre Galvao and Kevin Howell from Atos. Using Antonio's experience we are providing a thorough and finely tuned way to teach this art that can accommodate all levels, sizes and ages.
Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu is a martial art, combat sport, and a self defence system that focuses on grappling and especially ground fighting. It promotes the concept that a smaller, weaker person can successfully defend against a bigger, stronger assailant by using proper technique, leverage, and most notably, taking the fight to the ground, and then applying joint-locks and choke-holds to defeat the opponent
Our Yoga will not be your regular Hatha yoga, it will focuses on flexibility, posture and strength to improve your Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and overall health. The relaxation and meditation components are also a very important part of this, as relaxing and clearing the mind are the most important aspects of Brazilian Jiu Jiutsu. Emanuela's background is 15 years yoga, plus xsing yi (kung fu), qi gung (moving meditation) and the Alexander technique (posture) which she incorporates in her classes.
Primal Conditioning is a unique style of general conditioning based on a mixture of animal movements. Using only your body as a tool to strengthen your core, cardio, flexibility and create agility. Customised by Professor Antonio Mota, he uses a combination of his own techniques derived from all of his martial arts training and the Natural Gymnastics he has been taught, to condition his students for BJJ and to provide general functional fitness for adults and children. He imitates animals like the monkey, cricket, alligator, and spider to create natural movements that get to the core of your muscles to create deeper strength.
It's for all levels of fitness and assist in all areas of life, and enhance your skills in martial arts, sports and general day to day living.
TacFit is a progressive fitness and calisthenics conditioning program for creating circular strength, 3D patterning and ballistic movement application. It is often used by police, special forces and combat sport professionals, due to its efficiency and injury-preventative training. You train for 20-30min in high-intensity intervals. TacFit does not just benefit you physically, the moves are intentionally complicated to test your mind as well as your body, preparing you for elite performance in real-world situations.
Gravity is essentially a custom designed rock climbing room, with varying levels of slopes and overhangs which have many different types of grips, including Gi arms and legs to generate grip and core strength. Also designed to develop coordination and agility as well as general body strength. There will be no harnesses just thick foam mattresses on the ground for safety.
