CrossFit Tempus is a purpose built strength and conditioning facility located in Caboolture, Queensland. We focus on getting you the fittest you have ever been by employing the general physical preparedness (GPP) methodology of CrossFit. CrossFit is constantly varied, functional movements performed at high intensity. The main workouts are short & intense, and incorporate elements of gymnastics, Olympic weightlifting, rowing, running, bodyweight calisthenics and circuit training. They prepare you for whatever life may throw at you.

Constantly varied â€" no two workouts are the same when you train at CrossFit Tempus. This is the key to keeping your body adapting (growing, losing body fat, increasing performance, etc.). By keeping the stimulus constantly changing, you never hit that dreaded plateau that can come with a standard gym program.

Functional movements â€" we teach movements that transfer directly and indirectly to activities of daily living, sport and work. How do you get in and out of a chair? How do you go to the toilet? You squat. How should you pick something up from the ground? You should deadlift. How do you put something up on a high shelf? How do you lift your child overhead? You press, push press or even push jerk. How do you become faster, stronger and more efficient at these movements? You do Olympic lifts. Our training forms correct motor patterns that make your everyday life easier, increase your sporting performance and make you a better human by instilling correct functional movement for the rest of your now longer, healthier life. As far as we are concerned at CFT, there should be no difference in how an elite athlete and a weekend warrior train, the only difference between the two is the stage they perform on.

Performed at high intensity â€" if you want serious results, you need to be serious about your training. Results only come from hard work. And thatâ€TMs what itâ€TMs about at CFT. Everyone trains hard at HIS OR HER highest intensity with consistent mechanics. The latter is the most important; CrossFit is full of technical movements and technique is paramount at CFT. The movements you perform in a WOD are: firstly, movements that you can perform competently in isolation; secondly, movements that you can perform consistently well; and finally, movements that you can perform competently and consistently with the application of increased intensity (whether that is heavier load, faster reps or part of a couplet, triplet, etc. of exercises).

Technique is paramount and that is why we scale both load and intensity - we donâ€TMt change programs. The CrossFit program is designed for universal scalability, making it the perfect application for any committed individual regardless of experience, skill or fitness level. The program works for elite athletes, professional fighters, recreational sportspeople and those new to exercise.

The founder of CrossFit sums up our philosophy at CFT:

"Eat meat and vegetables, nuts and seeds, some fruit, little starch and no sugar. Keep intake to levels that will support exercise but not body fat. Practice and train major lifts: Deadlift, clean, squat, presses, C&J, and snatch. Similarly, master the basics of gymnastics: pull-ups, dips, rope climb, push-ups, sit-ups, presses to handstand, pirouettes, flips, splits, and holds. Bike, run, swim, row, etc. - hard and fast. Five or six days per week, mix these elements in as many combinations and patterns as creativity will allow. Routine is the enemy. Keep workouts short and intense.
